Today we are unboxing our Timberdoodle Curriculum. Come along as we take a peek at what’s inside.
This is the momtrepreneur life coffee chat where I give you a behind the scenes look at life as a homeschool and work from home mom. Today, we are unboxing the Timberdoodle curriculum, it is the elite pack for kindergarten.
In an earlier show, I talked about why I am terrified of teaching kindergarten, I did mention that we would be using the Timberdoodle curriculum for kindergarten.
Why Timberdoodle Curriculum?
As I was watching my then four-year-old do pre-K. I noticed that he was more engaged when he had hands-on activities. Since, this is my first time actually starting homeschool in kindergarten, I wanted a curriculum that he would be excited to use and that was very hands-on.
For all their grades, Timberdoodle has three levels—basic, complete, or elite. I decided to go with the elite package because it contained all the manipulatives. Since I was looking for a hands-on curriculum, I wanted all the manipulatives.
I did customize the package because I knew there were some subjects we would never touch. For kindergarten, you really only need to focus on numbers and reading. All the other subjects are just fun. So I did make substitutions and deletions from the pack.
