Joy is a mom and Christian Life Coach. Her goal is helping moms struggling with the chaos of divorce. She works to facilitate self-growth by helping women identify core challenges and setbacks.
I really wanted to chat with Joy about her story. The emotions of a divorce, and dealing with all the mental stuff that comes with it. Then turning that into a business to help other women is kind of an incredible things.

Helping Moms from Her Experience
Joy is a divorce coach. She helps women navigate the drama of the divorce, and helping women rebuild their lives afterwards. It all started after her own divorce when she realized there was a space that wasn’t being filled to help women going through all the drama of divorce—co-parent, deal with your ex, and helping them as single moms. So she wanted to step in helping moms.
Joy is in the process of wrapping up a 30 year career with a local police department. She started her business as a side-hustle, but with the retirement on the horizon she is able to step into the next chapter on a more full-time basis.
Her Journey: Going from a Hard Situation to Something Beautiful
It took a solid year for Joy to get into a normal space. She really saw a need for helping moms that have been divorced. It was really born out of the grief and trauma of a divorce.
There is a lot of rethinking after divorce. For Joy, there were a few first steps that she need to take. She encourages women to look at this a s new beginning, and to step into something new. Yes, closure needs to happen, but she encourages women to look at the new things on the horizon.

Start a Business from a very Personal Story: Setting Boundaries on Social Media
This is a very personal topic. It is really hard to put yourself out there, especially when it comes to such vulnerable topics. Joy had to take a step back, and decide to share her very personal story to connect with people.
She set personal boundaries for herself when it came to sharing her story. Joy wanted to make sure that there wasn’t a natural connection with her ex. She was also careful share her children’s personal connections as well.
