Hey Moms, This is the momtrepreneur life coffee chat. These chats give you a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a momtrepreneur. These are uncut and unscripted (I have a few notes because I am a mom of 6). These are honest chats, with all the glamour of the momtrepreneur life stripped away. Throw your hair up, grab your coffee in your favorite mug, and let’s talk about does work-life balance exist.

Does Work-Life Balance Exist
This is probably the number 1 question I am asked. When people ask about my story, it doesn’t take much for their eyes to get really big and their mouths to drop open. Then the inevitable question: How do you balance it all?
I actually started a chapter on this. My book is going to be pushing back on all the ideas that we are told are the “only way” to work and school. It is a book that is going to give you permission to be a rebel mom. It is not because I have all the answers, it is because I tried it and it didn’t work. One of the chapters asks the question: does work-life balance exist?
A few years ago this was the hot topic. You could watch TedTalks on it or find any number of videos that talk about it. The answer to finding balance was usually to quit a high-paying job, so the speaker could explore the topic of balance. For those of us who live in reality, this is just not going to work.
In the midst of our busy mom lives, does work-life balance exist?
It is All About Perspective
Simon Sinek, in his work life balance video, described work-life balance as walking a tightrope. He gets it and he isn’t even a mom. That describes this momtrepreneur life. This is our circus, these our are monkeys, and we are the tightrope walkers.
This is a much better picture of work-life balance for the momtrepreneur. Usually, balance is pictured as the perfectly stacked stones on the beach. It is a perfectly serene picture. Just add six screaming kids to the picture and it is more accurate.
Does Work-Life Balance Exist without Quitting My Job?
If you are asking does work-life balance exist? I’m a busy mom, I have clients, my kids need me, and I can’t just quit my job or fire my clients to explore the idea of balance. Yes, mom you can find the balance of a tightrope walker.
Don’t look at balance as a destination. It is a day-to-day journey that you are on. Watch the video or listen to the podcast on how to do it, drop the mom guilt, and listen to practical tips to does work-life balance exist.
