Why You Should do a Summer Reading Challenge
I know you are wondering what to put on your summer bucket list. You want to have fun and enjoy the summer, but you don’t want to hear I’m bored all the time. And you definitely don’t want to be running around non-stop. We are work from home moms after all. Work still needs to get done.
You can easily break up the boredom and keep kids occupied without TV or video games. Create a summer reading challenge. I’ve done this before, and the kids got into it. I did have prizes at the end, so that was a motivator as well.
Most of the time I have them pick the books they will read for the summer reading challenge, and I will just approve their choices. This is a fun way for the whole family to enjoy the summer and have a celebration at the end.
Make a list of all the books kids will read, or get them a reading journal and have them document all the books they are reading. This will help you and your kids keep track of everything. At the end of summer, celebrate!
Here are some books for all ages, including you, mom. Reading is a great way to relax, and it will be fun to challenge your orders kids to a reading duel.
