Hey Moms, Welcome back to the momtrepreneur life coffee chat. These are casual chats, where I pull back the curtain on what it means to be a work from home and homeschooling mom. I am Jodie the Mom from Lifeunboxed.blog. I am a virtual assistant, content master, and a homeschool mom of 6. Their ages are 16, 14, 12, 8, 4, and 2. Today, we are going to talk about being a working homeschool mom and how we make it work. Grab your coffee, in your favorite mug, throw your hair into a messy bun, and put on your favorite pjs…that is if you haven’t been in them all day already.
Something New
Before we get into the show today, I want to show you something new. Here is the latest journal that will most definitely get you ready for spring. I think it is my favorite, so far…but I say that about all of them. I am huge fan of writing things down. Not necessarily typing things out, but putting pen to paper. There is something about that connection between the physical movement of writing and what you have to say. From an academic standpoint, they always say you remember more when you write notes than when you type them. It is an excellent way to blow off steam, get all your emotions out, and write down your ridiculously good ideas.
I pretty much have notebooks available to me throughout the house and in purse on the go. When a crazy or brilliant idea pops into my head, I can quickly grab a notebooks and jot it down.
If you haven’t had a chance, be sure to check out this week’s show: Be Your Own Time Management Trainer And Take Control Of Your Day. Remember, you can listen, watch, or read it. We look at the excuses we make, including paralysis by analysis, and finding solutions to our busy schedules.
So this show flows perfectly into our coffee chat topic today. We are busy moms. Really, I could use a 36 hour day, but I only have 24. Two weeks ago, I gave a glimpse into our daily life. Now I want to break it down for you. I will leave the link in the show notes below, so you can see our day. Now I will tell you about our day.
Working Homeschool Mom—How We Make it Work
A couple of weeks ago, I gave a glimpse in the our day in the life. Well, what could fit into an 8-minute video. So for this post, I want to break it down for you. Yes, I am a homeschool mom of 6, and I juggle clients. Time is a rare commodity for moms.
Watch the video to see how we plan our week, the fixed items in our week, and how I plan each day. Also, I explain why I don’t like all the goal systems, and how it is better to work towards something with small consistent steps. Get a glimpse on how I am writing a book as a busy mom.
Life happens and we need to be able to easily adjust for life events…like spending the day in the emergency room. Yes, it happens. Moms, we need to plan with flexibility.
