Working and homeschooling creates its own unique kind of chaos, but I am going to let you in on one secret of doing both well.

First, let’s debunk a common homeschool mom myth. You don’t have to do it all. I know this is a hard idea to let go of. As homeschool moms, we have this idea that in order to prove that we can do it; we need to do all of it.

Combine homeschool mom with working mom and our plates are really full. As our plates fill up, it seems impossible to work and homeschool. How can we do both well? If you want to do both, then the secret sauce is to outsource your children’s learning without the mom guilt.

How to Outsource Learning

Outsourcing is always the answer when you are feeling overwhelmed in your business. This is also the answer for your homeschool. Yes, it is a myth to think that you need to teach everything. It is ok to admit there are some subjects you don’t want to relearn. Algebra and chemistry are at the top of my list.

We homeschool so we can tailor learning and curriculum for each child. Your child may actually learn a subject better from someone else.

Homeschooling gives you the freedom and the flexibility to make these choices without the mom guilt. If you choose to outsource learning, then that is the best choice for you and your kids.

No mom guilt allowed.

Outsource Science with Greg Landry Homeschool Science

As I already mentioned, I refuse to relearn chemistry. I am not a big science person, anyway. Although, I think I really could enjoy forensic science. But science is not a subject I want to teach or re-do. Like no amount of discipline or motivation is going to move me to teach it. But your kids need to learn it, and when it comes to the homeschool high school transcript science needs to be on it. We can’t get around it.

With outsourcing, you get to choose the science that fits your values, and what you want your kids to learn. You are still in control, mom. You are homeschool mom strong.

So what is the solution if you have no interest in teaching science or dissecting owl poop on your kitchen counter (gross)?

It is Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science, which includes homeschool labs. With so many classes offered, you can use it in elementary all the way through high school. The classes are created to incorporate the whole family, too. Which is always a bonus when you have a big family. My kids really enjoy doing school together. So when we can add the same class for multiple grades, it is always a win-win.

Greg Landry Homeschool Science is More than Just Science

This is my favorite part of his classes. He really focuses on helping the students learn by learning how to learn.

There is a lot of emphasis on proper note taking. Let’s just be honest here, most homeschoolers could use a bit more emphasis on this skill. Homeschool students don’t have a lot of opportunity to practice the art of note taking, and it is not something we always focus on.

Writing information dramatically increases our ability to remember what we learn. Our minds also remember sketches more than words. In every class, he teaches students both techniques. I told all my kids to just watch this section of the class, even if they weren’t using this science.

You can choose between live classes or recorded. The live classes include virtual labs and grading. If you hate grading as much as I do, you probably just breathed a sigh of relief. This can truly be a fully outsourced program.

With the recorded classes, Greg Landry Homeschool Science it is specifically designed to do as much or as little as you want. So if you have a 3rd grader taking the class with a 5th grader, you can require the 3rd grader to do a little less. Greg Landry Homeschool Science takes a layered approach to learning. You can expose kids to information that they aren’t intended to grasp in the moment, but it makes them familiar with it.

Test drive their new virtual, interactive science lab for free.

Greg Landry’s Homeschool Science offers the only virtual labs for Biology/Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics. Created specifically for homeschooling families…and students love them!
