For this week’s momtrepreneur life coffee chat, we are going to talk about 7 ways to make money online.
These chats are a time to throw your hair up in a messy bun, grab your coffee, and get a glimpse into what it is like to be a homeschool mom of 6, ages 2–16, and run a successful virtual assistant business for almost 10 years.
Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. If you purchase using one of these links, I make a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps me keeps things free for you, and who doesn’t love free stuff. For more information, see my disclosures.
Before we get into our topic, I want to mention this week’s show: How to Create a Homeschool High School Transcript. I am so excited to bring you this. It was really inspired from one of my mom book clubs. We were all talking about high school, and I was sharing the steps that I had taken to get ready for high school. One of the moms looked at me and said, “Is this on your blog?” My first thought was, “Why isn’t this on my blog? It should be on it.” If you want some step-by-step, practical help, then be sure to check out how to create a homeschool high school transcript.
How to Make Money Online
We want the freedom to break free from the 9–5, be our own boss, raise our kids, and enjoy our lives. Check out the workbook to help you get started.
1. Provide a service
As many of you know, I’ve been a virtual assistant for almost 10 years. Outside of referrals, my virtual assistant website is the main way people find out about me. This is truly a way to make money online because everything is done virtually.
2. Add advertisement to your website
Yes, it is a slow process, but you have to start somewhere. When it comes to make money online, it is important to create different streams of revenue. Right now, ads aren’t an income stream that I am making money from. However, as I continue to build it should start generating income.
3. Affiliate links
All of my affiliate partners can be found in the Mom Bag tab. You can find all the tools you need to raise your kids, running a business, and keeping your sanity. Go for affiliates that will appreciate you talking about them a little more. Find the affiliates that will give you a higher percentage of the sale.
ShareASale is the affiliate group that has the best dashboard, and I’ve made money from them. If you are just starting and want to join an affiliate network, then start with ShareASale.
4. Create products
I’ve created journals, mom shirts, and homeschool supplemental curriculum. These are really fun and make great gifts for mom.
I am really excited about the homeschool history timeline and the reading log for kids. You can either purchase the bound books or the digital copy. As long as kids are living in your household, you can print one for each kid.
5. Sponsored posts
This is one of my favorite ways to make money online. I really like writing sponsored posts. I get a chance to check out some really great products, and share them with you. It is a chance to really give value to you as the reader.
6. Create courses
I recently read a book, How to Get Paid for What You Know, by Graham Cochrane. If want to add courses to your income streams, then I would highly recommend this book.
I have a lot of ideas for courses. Sign-up for the newsletter, so you don’t miss the launch.
7. Coaching
This is similar to providing a service, but coaching goes beyond just a virtual assistant. To really help people with life and where they are at.
