Random Thoughts From A Work From Home Mom

Do you ever feel like giving up? Are there days where you’ve give 100% effort only to receive a participation award? Welcome back moms! This is the momtrepreneur life coffee chat. It is a relaxed conversation where we pull back the curtain on what it means to be a work from  home mom and homeschool mom.

I wanted to chat today about wanting to give up. This is where I’ve been that past week or so, and then this morning there were a couple of emails that just felt like receiving a participation award or the consolation prize. It is never a good feeling. These feelings of it’s not working I want to give up come with building a business and homeschooling.

Be sure to check out this week’s show: How to Handle Mom Brain and Decision Fatigue. If keeping track of kids, clients, home, and everything else does overwhelm your brain. It can leave you feeling exhausted and thinking, “If I have to make one more decision my brain is going to explode.”

Building something totally from scratch. I don’t have a huge social media following or a big digital footprint. All of these things I am literally building from scratch, and it is really hard. The research was done, I put in all the effort, so I could cut down on the 3 year timeframe that most bloggers will give you. Most bloggers will tell you that it takes 3 years for a blog to gain traction. So far it hasn’t been successful.

The Day-to-Day Thoughts of a Work From Home Mom

As you go through the day-to-day of building a business it is hard when you are not seeing the movement or the traction you are hoping for. And what it feels like you are getting in return is the consolation prize for 100% of your effort.

This is a momtrepreneur life coffee chat, so we need to talk about these things. These are feelings that we are having when we are building a business or even homeschooling our kids. We have a lot of moments when you just feel like you want to throw in the towel.

What to do When You Feel Like Giving Up on Your Business and Homeschool

We all have these moments, so what do we do about it? First, you need to have a cheerleader. Whether that is me, on this video telling you not to give up, or someone else. Let me add this though, giving up is not always a bad thing. This is not my first blog, but the other one no longer exists…and that is a good thing. I was very happy with that conclusion. There are times when you just need to give up.

Watch or listen to the show for all the details on when to give up and when not to give up. Also, I share some good news about a latest book. It is a book with words, check out the History Timeline Notebook.
